District Governor Harry Helwig and wife Linda visited with the Ashland, Washburn and South Shore Lions Club members on March 18th at the Pub & Grub just outside Washburn.  The District Governor brought a message of appreciation for all the hard work the clubs have put forth in their communities. He also thanked the clubs for their contributions to the Wisconsin Lions Foundation projects, the Leader Dog School, and LCIF. He stressed the local use of funds from LCIF sighting the recent tornados  in Ladysmith and Siren.

He stressed membership and the importance of a good orientation to make new members feel welcome. He also reported all three clubs have brought in new members over the last three years, but we can always do better. He talked about the importance of member retention and each members responsibility to make members feel welcome. Governor Harry's partner in service Linda talked about the Leader Dog school and their experience of visiting there.
